According to preliminary information received, the explosion was caused by a booby-trapped car parked at the south eastern entrance to Jaramana city, targeting a Syrian army checkpoint near Tameco compound.
Media outlets reported from the scene that the explosion was preceded by armed groups' attempts to infiltrate into the city. However, they engaged with army units and the People's Committees, where several insurgents left killed.
Despite the lack of official list of casualties, RT correspondent reported that military personnel and civilians were among the martyrs in Jaramana explosion, which accompanied clashed described as violent.
