"Police officers spotted a man who aroused their suspicions and approached him to check," occupation spokeswoman said.

"The terrorist pulled out a knife and tried to stab the policeman and was quickly killed by police gunfire."

The Palestinian health ministry in the occupied West Bank indicated that the dead man was a Palestinian whose identity was not yet known.

The occupied territories have been rocked by a wave of attacks against Zionists in retaliation of the Israeli repressive measures against the Palestinians across the West Bank and especially in al-Quds. Zionist settlers backed by occupation forces have been repeatedly storming the holy al-Aqsa Mosque, sparking Palestinian anger.

The Israeli occupation troops stormed the Palestinian martyrs' houses in al-Quds (Jerusalem), clashing with the locals who demanded the Zionists to release the corpses of 57 martyrs.

The Palestinian resistance operations have killed 19 the Zionist settlers, and over 132 Palestinian martyrs have been claimed by the Israelis assaults since October.

Earlier on Friday, IOF killed two Palestinians in two different incidents: a youth in Gaza and a woman in Silwad in West Bank.
