On the birthday of Imam Ali (as), Nader broke his fast in the heavens.

Martyr Nader Khodor Jarkas

Nader Khodor Jarkas was born on the 24th of March, 1975 in Sidon.

During her 8th month of pregnancy, Nader’s mother dreamt that an honorable lady came to visit her, so she sat with her in a beautiful green field, and the lady asked her: “What’s wrong with you? Why do you seem exhausted?”

She answered: “Not at all, I’m actually happy because the doctor informed me that I’m having a baby boy.”

So the lady told her: “Yes, and when you give birth, you will be happy in the world as well as the Hereafter.”

When Nader was 15-years-old, he dropped out of school, despite his high intelligence, for personal reasons.

Later, Nader met with a resistance fighter and was greatly influenced by him, and so he joined Imam Mahdi Scouts. This made him learn about the prophet and his household, get attached to them, and commit to their path, and so he used to take part in all the rituals related to their memories, and perform all the Islamic requirements.

The Martyr further started following up informative and religious lectures in the Hussainiah of “Haret Saida” from 1998 until 2006, so was he influenced by the leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Imam Ruhollah Khomeini and by martyr Sayyed Mohammad Baker Al-Sadr.

Nader went through English and Persian languages courses, played Karate, and was proficient in fixing electrical equipment.

He got married in 2000 and had two boys.

He was known for his respectfulness and good manners, as well as his modesty, courage, and honesty.

When Nader’s mother used to ask him to leave Hezbollah, for fear that he could be targeted by the Israeli occupation, Nader used to say: “You fear for me from death even though death will come upon me when my lifetime ends… ‘Death will find you out, even if ye are in towers built up strong and high’ (An-Nisaa’: 78)… so trust in Allah O mother and never think about that.”

In the battlefield:

On the 8th of August, 2006, Nader Jarkas was with martyrs Ahmad and Mohammad Abdullah when Israeli aircrafts targeted the location they were in.

The day of Nader’s martyrdom concurred with the birthday of Imam Ali bin Abi Taleb (as). Martyr Nader died while he was fasting for the occasion.
