In an exclusive interview with Al-Manar Website, Mussa said that the upcoming few hours were decisive in this regard. He highlighted that contacts were intensively ongoing to reach the happy ending, and expressed belief all government constituents should work to safeguard the cabinet.

Mussa highlighted that the latest developments have proven that all claims that the government was a one-color one were not accurate. He said the government is democratic and adopts a discussion approach in dealing with the various causes and issues.

CONTACTS INTENSIVELY ONGOING
MP Michel Mussa said that the few upcoming hours were decisive for the electricity draft plan prepared by Energy Minister Gebran Bassil. He said that contacts were intensively ongoing to reach the much awaited happy ending, and expressed belief consensus to be reached over the plan’s different clauses at the end.

He pointed to the latest statement made by Prime Minister Najib Miqati in which he declared that things were not close and that a kind of solution was reached. He stressed all the government constituents were conscious and aware of the necessity to safeguard this government.

KEEPING MAJORITY CRUCIAL
While refusing all claims of internal conflicts that would have negative repercussions and preferring to speak of “differences in opinions” over technical matters, Mussa highlighted that these differences constitute the best response and proof in the face of all accusations that the government was a one-color one. He said this government was democratic contrary to all claims, and stressed that it adopts a discussion approach in dealing with the various causes which concern the people.

Answering a question about the stance of the Change and Reform bloc which is threatening of negative repercussions to the failure of approving the electricity plan during Wednesday’s cabinet session, Mussa said all factions should make efforts to reach a satisfying and convincing formula. He stressed that keeping the current majority was crucial, in light of all the sacrifices.

CONFLIC T ONLY TECHNICAL
MP Mussa stressed that the conflict over the details of the electricity plan among the government’s constituents was only technical, with absolutely no political dimensions. He expressed hope the conflict would be technically resolved within hours in light of the ongoing contacts aimed at reaching consensus over a mutual formula.

The Lebanese lawmaker agreed with Speaker Nabih Berri who said that the problem resides in the fact that the majority does not know how to rule and that the opposition does not know how to oppose. He said what recently happened constitutes another experience witnessed by the government to become used to the possible ways of dealing with the different causes.
