Lebanese, Syrians: One Nation in Two States

Arab Lebanese Struggle Movement Secretary General Faisal Daoud declared that the conspiracy against Syria has failed, and revealed that the crisis reached a dead-end. He assured that there was no danger on the Syrian regime and leadership.

In an exclusive interview with Al-Manar Website, Daoud saluted the resistant Syrian people for what he called its “Intifada” against the American flagrant meddling in the Syrian internal affairs, in reference to the incident of throwing US ambassador with stones and tomatoes. He said that this spontaneous reaction proved again that Syria was the heart of Arabism.

The former lawmaker warned Lebanese conspirators against Syria that they would pay the price at the end of the day, and noted that the people would make them pay the price and would hold them accountable for their crimes. He recalled that the Lebanese and Syrian people “actually constitute one nation in two states.”

Daoud hailed the Lebanese government’s position towards the Syrian crisis as excellent until now, but expressed concerns over the latest statement made by Prime Minister Najib Miqati about Lebanon’s readiness to apply sanctions against Syria if adopted by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He hoped these stances were tactical, not practical, and warned that any damage in Syria would lead to a complete collapse of the Lebanese economy.

CONSPIRACY FAILED
Former MP Faisal Daoud told Al-Manar website that the difficult stage in Syria has ended, and announced that the conspiracy has failed. He noted that this conspiracy targeted the whole region and not only Syria, given that the division scheme targeting, in addition to Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and other states. He stressed that the conspiracy failed thanks to the will of the Syrian people and the wisdom of President Bashar Assad. He noted that the proof of the failure of the conspiracy was the international and regional pressure against Syria, after they failed to achieve any victory on ground.

He said that violence was taking place everywhere, and not only in Syria. Yet, he asserted that all this did not prevent the continuation of the state and the guarantee of its security and stability, despite all attempts to destabilize Syria. He said there was no danger at all on the Syrian leadership in light of the latest developments, and noted that the proof was that the conspirators resorted to the assassination of prominent and scientific figures. He found similarities between the Syrian situation and what previously happened in Iraq.

SYRIA… HEART OF ARABISM
Daoud tackled the incident of throwing the US ambassador in Damascus with stones and tomatoes on Thursday. He refused to describe the incident as an aggression, and said it was a spontaneous reaction by Syrians against the flagrant US meddling in Syrian internal affairs.

Syrian demonstrators threw US ambassador Robert Ford and other US diplomats on Thursday with stones and tomatoes as they were visiting an opposition figure in Damascus. It was the second attack on US diplomats since the protests erupted in Syria in March. In July, following a visit by Ford to the city of Hama, Syrian protesters attacked the US embassy compound in Damascus.

According to Daoud, “Syrians believe that the United States of America is the main conspiracy source, and behind it the Israeli enemy.” He said that the US “seeks to create sedition wherever it goes,” in order to achieve its suspicious goals. He pointed to the US biased positions at the side of the Israeli enemy and its conspiracies against the Arabs. He reiterated that Syria was the heart of the Arabism, what explains the “Intifada” launched by them against the Americans.

THEY WILL PAY THE PRICE!
Answering a question about the impact on the Syrian crisis on Lebanon in light of the smuggling weapons’ process at the borders with Syria, Daoud highlighted that those who were taking part in the conspiracy against Syria from Lebanon were the ones who used to accuse the Syrian regime of interfering in Lebanon. He wondered how these political sides could allow themselves to do what they used to denounce and condemn.

Daoud undermined the claims made by these sides in which they denied they were interfering in the Syrian crisis, and said that facts show the opposite. He noted that the smuggling operations were not limited to the Lebanese borders, and that they include the borders with Jordan and Iraq as well. He spoke of an American and European campaign against Syria, with the assistance of some Arab essential sides, without forgetting the Turkish central role.

He stressed that the conspirators against Syria would pay the price at the end of the day. He said that the Lebanese people themselves would force them to pay this price. He wondered about the usefulness for Lebanese to take part in the conspiracy against Syria, and recalled that Lebanese and Syria constitute in fact one nation in two states. “This is a truth, not a slogan,” he said, as he warned against any attempt to destabilize Syria.

SANCTIONS HURT LEBANON BEFORE SYRIA
Former MP Faisal Daoud hailed the Lebanese government’s position towards the Syrian crisis as excellent until now. He wished the government would proceed with this policy, given that it was in its majority pro-resistance. He noted that this issue needed a complete and conscious study to be made by the Lebanese people, and stressed the government should not interfere in the Syrian affairs.

Dououd expressed concerns over the latest statement made by Prime Minister Najib Miqati about Lebanon’s readiness to apply sanctions against Syria if adopted by the UNSC. He hoped these stances were tactical, not practical, and warned that any damage in Syria would lead to a complete collapse of the Lebanese economy. “With all respect to Miqati, if he applies the sanctions, then he would be indirectly making a conspiracy against himself,” he explained.

In conclusion, Daoud saluted the Resistance, and stressed that the resistance would triumph at the end of the day, whether in Lebanon or Syria or Iran or occupied Palestine.
