Strategic analyst and expert in political affairs Dr Habib Fayyad said that the American accusations against Iran of involvement in the so-called assassination attempt against the Saudi ambassador to Washington were only a step in a series, and spoke of a plot prepared by the American administration against Iran, amid the US withdrawal from Iraq.

In an exclusive interview with Al-Manar Website, Dr Fayyad said US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s foolish statement uncovered the American conspiracy, highlighting how she claimed that the recent accusations ought to help convincing world powers to approve sanctions against the Islamic Republic. He also noted that US Vice President Joe Biden’s remarks were clear in this regard.

While noting that the so-called Arab moderation camp was in a complete harmony with the American demands, Dr Fayyad expressed belief that the American scenario was fully coordinated with Saudi Arabia. He said that the kingdom had some covert intentions against the Islamic Republic.

Dr Fayyad did not rule out the military option against Tehran, and pointed out that the path of the ties between the two rivals, in reference to the US and Iran, was heading towards crisis. He stressed that Iran triumphed when it became a nuclear state despite the American wishes.

BANK OF ACCUSATIONS EMPTY
Expert in Iranian affairs Dr Habib Fayyad told Al-Manar Website that the United States of America has sought justification to strain its ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran and to take anti-Iran resolutions in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He noted that the bank of the accusations against Tehran has become empty, something which forced the American administration to create new justifications.

Thus, Dr Fayyad expressed belief that the American side sought to create sedition between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through accusing Iran of a direct terrorist act by claiming that Iran was involved in an assassination attempt against the Saudi Ambassador in Washington.

CLINTON UNCOVERED CONSPIRACY
Dr Fayyad concluded that the American side found itself with no reasonable grounds to incite the international public opinion against Tehran and therefore sought to fabricate accusations in order to create these justifications. He noted that the statements made by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in this regard were foolish, explaining that Clinton uncovered the conspiracy when she claimed that the recent accusations ought to help convincing world powers to approve sanctions against the Islamic Republic. He added that the stances of US Vice President Joe Biden were also clear, given that he warned of sanctions and what might be even bigger than sanctions.

Dr Fayyad spoke of an American plot against Tehran amid the American withdrawal from Iraq. He expressed belief that the US would seek to fabricate many justifications to justify its aggressive policies against the Islamic Republic. Therefore, accusing Iran of involvement in an assassination attempt against the Saudi ambassador were only one step in this direction.

SAUDI COVERT INTENTIONS
Dr Fayyad noted that the American policies against Iran as well as the Resistance axis, through the Syrian axis, have reached deadlock, pushing Washington to directly deal with Tehran. He said that such a strategy required an anti-Iran atmosphere that would help the US in defaming and tarnishing the image of the Islamic Republic and therefore justifying any potential measures, including the military option.

He said that the American side was also seeking to embarrass the poles backing the Iranian stance, in reference to Russia and China in particular. “The American administration believes that, if it succeeds in fabricating evidence against Tehran, then it would be able to make the Russian and Chinese less biased and therefore to approve a resolution condemning Tehran, with Russia and China’s signatures,” he highlighted.

Answering a question whether he feared Arabs could adopt the American accusations, Dr Fayyad noted that the so-called Arab moderation camp was in a complete harmony with the American demands. He expressed belief that the American scenario was fully coordinated with the Saudis, and spoke of some covert Saudi intentions against Tehran, especially after the so-called moderate states had lost Egypt, and after a new alliance started to emerge, including the western camp in addition to Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

IRAN WILL NOT BE DRAGGED INTO SEDITION
Answering a question about Iran’s way of confrontation, Dr Fayyad said that American accusations were not new for Iranians who became accustomed to such a strategy. He noted that the statements of Iranian officials in this regard, and pointed to the stances of Iranian Speaker Ali Larjihani who highlighted that the ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia were normal.

He said that the American accusations were therefore unjustified, and expressed belief that Iran perceived the dangers of the American game and would not be dragged into Arab-Iranian or Sunni-Shiite sedition. Yet, he said that the Iranian stance would be firm and solid in the face of the Western camp, and mainly the United States.

TEHRAN ACHIEVED VICTORY
While noting that the confrontation path between the two rivals, in reference to the US and Iran, has reached its apogee, Dr Fayyad said that the path of relations between them was heading towards crisis without doubt. He warned that the United States might resort to the military option against Tehran, if no other option proved to be useful.

Dr Fayyad noted that Tehran triumphed over all its rivals, mainly the United States, when it became a nuclear state despite their will. He said that America was unable to perceive this reality, and could find itself obliged to militarily deal with Tehran, regardless of the nature of the military option it might use.
