Egyptian opposition factions picked Mohammad ElBaradei to represent them in negotiations on the suggested political solutions for the current crisis and on the country's future since the army decided to carry out a roadmap if the parties could not end the crisis by Wednesday.

"ElBaradei was delegated to be the voice of the opposition," said June 30 Front, which includes Tamarod -- a grassroots campaign behind Sunday's record protests against President Mohammad Mursi.

The Front entrusted Elbaradei with the responsibility to ensure meeting the public demands and implementing the roadmap for the political transition.
