Bahraini Youth Society for Human Rights posted on its website photos of the Human Rights detainee Naji Fatil (39 years old) with the signs of torture on his body. Posting the photos synchronizes with the trial sessions of Fatil who is charged with belonging to February 14 Coalition.

 

 

Manama Voice newspaper quoted on internet the attorney, Manar Makki, that the tears poured from some of the attendees in the court while they were listening to the defendant, Rayhana al-Moussawi, as she started sharing her suffering.

"Al-Moussawi, the only woman in the case of the so-called February 14 cell, revealed that she was unclothed in the prison," Makki, who attended the first trial of 50 defendants, added.

The defense considered that the judiciary does not rely on solid evidences to issue its charges against what it views as "real criminals."

The defense further expressed its reservations as one of the court judges belongs to the ruling family which causes the crisis in Bahrain according to the defendants.

In an interview with Al-Manar Website, a member of the Secretariat in Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society Taher al-Moussawi considered that what has been revealed shows the torture that the detainees suffer from in the Bahraini prisons.

"The Bahraini government has not yet allowed the secretary of the UN Committee against Torture to visit the country," al-Moussawi said.

 "Torturing the Bahraini detainees occurs in response to their attempts to freely express their political views that fortify their usurped rights and dignity," he added.

"What Rayhana al-Moussawi uncovered must vivify to the supporters of the regime how it serves its interests regardless of national, religious, and moral values."

"Bassiouni report proved that torture in Bahrain has been systematic and ordered for around 40 years due to the consistent governmental violations for the human rights," al-Moussawi also noted.

"The torture has different aspects and occurs in multiple centers," he clarified.

"Neither the involved in the torture crimes nor the government has been accounted or tried," Taher al-Moussawi concluded.
