A military attack targeted on Friday an armored police vehicle in al-Arish, leaving an officer killed and a soldier wounded.

"A number of gunmen launched RPG rockets into an armored police vehicle in al-Arish, killing a colonel and a soldier," a security source mentioned.

The militants further attacked several security barracks in al-Arish which lies northern Sinai.

Earlier at night, the gunmen assailed many security posts on the airport road in al-Arish, wounding two members of the police forces.
