AbbasPalestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stated that any peace deal with the Zionist entity will be put to referendum, three days after announcing the resumption of  direct negotiations.

Abbas's statement was quoted from his interview to "al-Rai" Jordanian newspaper.

Abbas considered that any security agreement must liberate the Palestinian territories from the Israeli occupation.

"The Zionist entity has the right to preserve its security within its borders, with the approval of neighboring countries," he added.

"The United States is serious about reaching a political solution to the Palestinian cause by establishing a Palestinian state on 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital," Abbas told Al-Rai.

"The issues of the refugees, security,  borders, and prisoners will be discussed according to the Arab peace initiative." Mahmoud Abbas also stressed.

Netanyahu
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu announced, in turn, that any peace deal with the Palestinian party will be put to referendum, saying that the Zionist entity has to reach a peace agreement with the Palestinians due to the Syrian and Iranian challenges it faces.
