Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Grand Ayatollah Imam Ali Khamenei, warned of enemies' attempts to find division and hatred among Muslim Shiites and Sunnis, indicating that the enemies have been targeting Shiites around the world under the pretext of their “ties with Iran”.
Speaking Sunday night, during the reception of a group of students and representatives of scientific, cultural and political organizations in Iranian universities, Imam Khamenei added that “these don’t know that kind people who belong to the Sunni sect in many countries in the world defend the Islamic Republic of Iran more than Shiites do.”
On another hand, the supreme leader tackled some of the developments in the region, considering that: These developments reveal the deepness of the Islamic awakening in people, but the bad management of things and the lack of experience in ruling led to this painful situation, like the case in Egypt, that great country.
In this context, Imam Khamenei called on students to study the course of the Islamic Awakening, the arrogant powers’ trenches on this phenomenon, the mistakes that took place in the regional countries, and to compare that with the stability in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
His eminence also stressed that the “insight and the realistic vision to what is taking place in the region, reveal that some causes had contributed in the stability and strength of the Islamic system, as it also reveals the depth of the strategy which the Islamic Republic adopts.”
