The Iranian people asserted during these demonstrations their full commitment to the Palestinian cause until liberating all the holy sites.
The President-elect Hassan Rouhani spoke during the ceremonies, stressing that the Zionist entity is an old wound and must be removed.
"The Zionist entity is an open wound in the body of the Islamic world and must be cleansed," he stated.
Iran’s outgoing President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed that the Zionist entity will be wiped out by a destructive storm because it has no place in the region.
In August 1979, the late founder of the Islamic Republic Ayatollah Khomeini declared the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day, calling on Muslims across the world to mark the annual occasion by holding street rallies.
