WikiLeaks: Hariri Can’t Sit with Sayyed Nasrallah in One Room!

WikiLeaks newest discovery: Saad Hariri wanted to get rid of Syrian regime and... Hezbollah!

A new discovery was revealed Friday by WikiLeaks: the head of the Future party in Lebanon, courageous Saad Hariri, can’t sit with Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah.

Those who thought that the reason behind this is a “political misunderstanding” between the two men are mistaken.

Simply, Hariri can’t be with Sayyed Nasrallah in the same room, because the Israeli enemy might discover where he is and therefore, Hariri’s life could be threatened!

ISOLATE SYRIA!
On August 24, 2006, (BEIRUT 273506), the head of the Future part Saad Hariri met with a US foreign ministry official and another diplomat in the US Embassy in Lebanon and discussed with them regional developments, mainly concerning Syria.

According to the cable, published Friday by Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar, Hariri expressed belief that the Syrian and Iranian regimes are the obstacles behind the deteriorating peace process in the Middle East.

He said that the US government has sought to change the behavior of the Syrian government, but failed. He explained that Israel is "protecting" the Syrian regime because it fears the unknown. However, he claimed that the moment was appropriate for the international community to weaken (Syrian President) Bashar (Assad).

Hariri claimed that the United States government needed a new and clear policy to isolate Syria. “If you don’t isolate Syria and put a siege, they will not change,” he was quoted as saying. He went on to claim that isolating Syria and imposing a siege on it would cut Iran's link to Lebanon and Palestine “where it is creating problems.”

WE NEED TO GET RID OF SYRIAN REGIME!
“If you weaken Syria, then Iran would be forced to work alone,” Hariri said. “Saudis and other Arab countries have gotten fed up with Bashar and are not interested in getting engaged in a dialogue with Damascus after Bashar’s latest speech in which he threatened of a civil war in Lebanon.”

“We need to completely get rid the Syrian regime. This regime has been built on conflicts. These conflicts will end when this regime is abolished.”

KHADDAM, MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD CAN FILL VOID
When asked about who can fill the void if the regime in Damascus falls, Hariri stated that collaboration between the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood and some of the officials who were part of the old regime, such as former Syrian Vice President Abdul Halim Khaddam and former Syrian Chief of Staff Hikmat al-Shihabi could assume control in Syria.

He claimed that the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria is similar to the so-called moderate Islamists in Turkey. “They will allow a Christian or a woman to become president. They accept a civil government. They even support a peace agreement with Israel,” he said.

He said he preserves ties with Khaddam and Syrian Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Ali Bayanouni and urged Americans to speak to him. Hariri claimed that Syria was only a bridge for a greater problem, which is Iran and its cell to support Islamic groups, including Hezbollah and Hamas.

IRAN, SYRIA SMUGGLING ARMS TO HEZBOLLAH
On August 24, 2006, (BEIRUT273506), Hariri claimed that the continuation of the siege following the July war would “kill the Cedars Revolution.” He warned that it would portray the Lebanese government as powerless in the face of Hezbollah victory. He also said that Lebanon was the only moderate democracy in the Middle East.

According to the cable published by Al-Akhbar, Hariri told the Americans that Iran and Syria are smuggling arms to Hezbollah through land borders not by sea or air. He spoke about the deployment of 8400 Lebanese Army soldiers at the Lebanese-Syrian border region.

The head of the Future party also reportedly raised the need of the army for weapons and arms. He questioned the usefulness of expecting the army could serve as an obstacle to Hezbollah when its ammunition won't last more than four hours. “This is ridiculous,” he went on to say.

HEZBOLLAH MUST CHANGE BEHAVIOR
During the same meeting, Hariri claimed that he has cut all his ties with Hezbollah. He said he wants them to change their behavior and disarm. “Otherwise, they will have a problem with me.”

Asked whether he would return to the national dialogue table, Hariri asked: “What? National dialogue again? Do you want me to sit in the same room with (Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed) Hasan Nasrallah at the time Israeli knows exactly where he is?!”

LEBANON ONLY NEEDS LIGHT WEAPONS
In another leaked cable dated September 27, 2006, (BEIRUT 312606), Hariri noted that Lebanon doesn’t need patriot missiles or F-15 or F-16 aircraft. “Lebanon only requires light weapons and some helicopters to impose its sovereignty over all its territory,” Hariri claimed.

According to Hariri, the deployment of the Lebanese army in the South was the biggest hit to Hezbollah. “Even the south residents will turn against them,” he claimed with proud. “The people started realizing that Hezbollah is responsible of destroying their life. They will perceive that the Lebanese government, not Hezbollah, will resolve their problems, and that Hezbollah is nothing but Iran’s agent,” he was quoted as saying.
