Ghanaian Foreign Minister Hannah Tetteh (R), Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov (L)Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday that he was shocked when learned of the death of about 450 Kurds in northern Syria, including a hundred children.

The minister called on the United Nations Security Council to "condemn this terrorist act and all acts of terrorism in Syria without reservations or additional conditions."

During a joint news conference with his Ghanaian counterpart, Hannah Tetteh, in Moscow, Lavrov recalled that another terrorist attack took place in Damascus countryside, hours after the massacre against Kurdish civilians at the hands of al-Nusra Front guerrillas because of the participation of some men of their tribe in battles against the terrorist group.

Lavrov underlined the need to put an end to these acts immediately.

"The recent developments in Syria make more urgent the G8 summit call on the Syrian government and the opposition to unite in order to fight terrorists and expel them from the country," he stated.

The minister pointed out that some UNSC members refused in the past to condemn the terrorist acts in Syria, stressing that "this situation is totally unacceptable, and terrorism must be considered without any double standards."

He warned that the so-called Free Syrian Army will focus on the war of attrition in case some parties continued to incite the Syrian opposition to overthrow the regime, which is in the interest of al-Nasra Front and other terrorists who do not hide their goals aimed at establishing Caliphate or Emirate in the Levant.

Lavrov also indicated that it is not permissible to delay in taking firm action to halt combat operations and redirect the war machine, by the government and the opposition, to the fight against terrorism.

Moreover, the Russian minister official called on the Syrian opposition to think about the fate of the country and its people, not about seizing power.
