The Syrian army launched Wednesday an extensive military campaign against the strongholds of the militant groups in Damascus countryside, according to Al-Manar correspondent.

The Syrian army launched Wednesday an extensive military campaign against the strongholds of the militant groups in Damascus countryside, according to Al-Manar correspondent.

The campaign mainly targeted the areas of Zamalka, Jubar, Qabon, Arbeen, Harasta, Eastern Ghouta, Darayah, Maadameya, Bet Sahm,  Husseineya, Theyabeya, Hajar al-Aswad.

"The Syrian troops destroyed the militants' gatherings in the different villages and towns of Damascus Countryside, killing and wounding a number of them," the Syrian news agency, SANA, asserted.
