Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said Tuesday that U.S. President Barack Obama thinks of several options regarding the Syrian crisis in response to the claimed chemical attack on civilians near Damascus.
Rudd stated he had held talks with Obama on Monday, "in order to chart the way to be followed after the last week attack which left hundreds dead."
"The international community is united on this view in addition to that chemical weapons had been used with a large likelihood that the Syrian regime is responsible for the attack," Rudd was quoted as saying.
"It is a crime against humanity and violation of international law. It will not pass without consequences, and Barack Obama focuses on several options to discuss with his world partners and allies."
