Saudi Arabia to Submit Draft Resolution to UN General Assembly against Syria

Saudi Arabia, a founding Arab member of the United Nations, is planning to submit new draft resolution to the UN General Assembly as soon as it becomes ready.

Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-FaisalSaudi Arabia, a founding Arab member of the United Nations, is planning to submit new draft resolution to the UN General Assembly as soon as it becomes ready, Al-Mayadeen TV reported.

The Saudi draft resolution will target The Syrian Arab Republic and the Lebanese Resistance party of Hezbollah, the channel added.

Although the Saudi authorities have repeatedly mentioned that they support the Syrian militant opposition by smuggling arms, money and mercenaries, the new draft resolution is meant to accuse the Syrian government of violating human rights.

It will condemn foreign interference in Syria by foreign fighters as well, , according to Al-Mayadeen correspondent in New York.

"The intervention of foreign fighters, particularly Hezbollah has negative repercussions on the region," it says.

Saudi Arabia also didn't forget to accuse the Syrian authorities of using chemical weapons.

Syria was hit by a violent unrest since mid-March 2011, where the Syrian government accuses foreign actors of orchestrating the conflict by supporting the militant opposition groups with arms and money.
