Kerry Says Military Move on Syria ’Tailored’, Not ’Open-Ended’

US Secretary of State John Kerry said Friday that the expected move on Syria would be ’tailored’, not ’open-ended’, stressing that the congress will be consulted.

KerryUS Secretary of State John Kerry said Friday that the expected move on Syria would be 'tailored', not 'open-ended', stressing that the congress will be consulted.

"President Barack Obama will consult with the Congress regarding any move."

In a televised speech, Kerry noted that the move against Syria would not resemble those against Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.

John Kerry alleged that in Damascus countryside there was a crime against humanity, citing the hasty accusations of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, France, Turkey and Australia against the Syrian regime concerning the reported chemical attack.

Kerry further referred to the American intelligence report which claimed that the Syrian army used a nerve gas in Damascus countryside, adding that "we know where the rockets were launched from and where they landed."

In a related context, Kerry emphasized the American belief that Russia will deactivate any UN Security Council resolution regarding Syria.

The US top diplomat contradicted his aggressive speech by underscoring that Washington is still committed to the political process to put an end to the Syrian crisis.
