The former President of the Belgian Senate Anne-Marie Lizin told al-Manar Website that a small group in the French intelligence service may have fabricated the issue of the chemical weapons in Syria.
Commenting on the hardline French stance on Syria, Lizin said that the Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and the ambassador to Syria Eric Chevallier, driven by the Israeli pressure, were able to push the US administration towards taking firm positions against Syria, yet Obama refrained from carrying out the military plans as the considerations of the American interests do not match with them.
"A small group of the French Intelligence could be responsible for the manipulation that resulted in the chemical weapons issue, and that this group aimed at preventing the French Public position from opposing the war against Syria," she said.
"I learned about a French man who works at a security company which trains Muslim youths to fight in Syria, so that company may be working for the French intelligence," Lizin added, "Those fighters were not qualified, so they turned to harm the civilians."
She said that she doubted a video in which an unseen cameraman was shooting from a balcony and focusing on the location of a rocket 4 or 5 seconds before it was launched.
"The truth will be revealed in 10 or 15 years, yet this video did contribute to instigating the US president to take the decision of the war," Anne-Marie Lizin stated.
