Egyptian interim president Adly Mansour received Thursday at al-Etahadeyya Palace European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton.
Mansour discussed with Ashton the local political conditions and the possible EU aids to the democratic procedure in Egypt.
Mansour also asserted his commitment to the roadmap that was announced in the Constitution Declaration, to the principles of the June revolution, and to the public will.
Ashton had met before the Egyptian minister of defense Abdul Fatah al-Sisi, yet media oulets were not allowed to cover the meeting.
In her third trip to Egypt, Ashton met a number of Egyptian officials, including FM Nabil Fahmy, the Chairman of the Constitution Amendment Committee Amr Moussa, Grand Imam of al-Azhar Ahmed al-Tayyeb and others.
