During his speech at the AL extraordinary session in Thursday which came at the request of Palestine, Arabi said that consultations are underway with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ekmaluddin Ihsanoglu to issue an appeal to stop the fighting over all the Syrian territories so that humanitarian aid can safely reach millions of Syrians.
Arab revealed that he consulted in this regard with UN-AL envoy Lakhdar Brahimi and will discuss the matter later with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
He also indicated that Arab foreign ministers meeting might be held to discuss the overall preparations for the Geneva 2 conference and provide sponsorship and support for the Syrian National Coalition, noting that Brahimi will arrive in Cairo on October 28 to discuss the matter.
