According to the Lebanese al-Akhbar newspaper, a number of Lebanese and Arab official who met Filtman on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly conveyed his sharp criticism for Saudi Arabia, saying: " I do not know how the Saudi government will keep in power."

"Filtman pointed out that the Saudi Arabia cut off its relations with Iraq after the dispute between the two countries, adding that the Saudi officials can no longer tolerate any positive development in Baghdad."

"Saudi Arabia is adopting the same strategy in Lebanon as it deactivates all the constitutional institutions, including the government," al-Akhbar reported Filtman.
