Two people have been killed and 30 wounded in three days of clashes in the Lebanese northern city of Tripoli between the two political factions in Bab al-Tabaneh and Jabal Mohsen.
The violence, which erupted on Monday, has forced families from both districts to flee their homes for other areas of Tripoli.
Al-Manar TV correspondent reported that the Lebanese army brought large reinforcements to the city and carried out widespread deployment at the entrances of the two regions.
For his part, Al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc MP Mohammad Kabbara launched a rhetoric attack against the Lebanese government, bearing it responsible for the security deterioration in the city.
Meanwhile, the army said it arrested four Syrians on the Wadi Hmeid-Arsal road in eastern Lebanon after they entered the country illegally from Syria.
Their car was laden with "military grade shotguns and pistols, ammunition and military equipment, as well as a number of hand grenades."
In turn, Lebanese President Michel Sleiman discussed the situation in Tripoli on Wednesday with the caretaker Minister of Youth and Sports Faisal Karami.
