Demonstrators attacked an office of Tunisia’s ruling party, Ennahda, injuring five party members on Thursday.
"Five people were wounded, including one who had a fractured leg and another who suffered face burns,” party official Abdessatar Amdouni told local radio.
"Hundreds, or thousands" of assailants attacked the building in the town west of Tunis, throwing rocks and petrol bombs, the Ennahda representative in Beja told Shems FM radio station.
The attack was the second such attack on Thursday, after an Ennahda office in the town of Kef was ransacked by protesters.
The incident took place after the burial of a policeman killed by extremists on Wednesday evening, amid rising anger at the ruling party's failure to stem deadly violence caused by extremists.
