UN officials are working on a number of documents that may provide the groundwork for the Geneva 2 peace conference, aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Syria, Russia’s Deputy FM, Mikhail Bogdanov, told RT.

“We hope that a large amount of preparatory work has already been done. We shared many ideas, thoughts, and came to an agreement on the format, venue and most importantly the aim of this conference,” he said.

He stressed, however, that some of the issues remain unresolved, including the participation of the Syrian opposition and who will be representing it at the conference in Geneva.
