Units of the Syrian armed forces seized full control of al-Sfeira city in the southwestern countryside of Aleppo, after destroying the last terrorists' dens and gatherings in the city.
SANA mentioned that the army units destroyed all terrorists' dens and tunnels in which they were stationed.
It added that the army units discovered an explosive devices factory, while the engineering units dismantled scores of explosive devices planted by terrorists in the city's streets.
Al-Sfeira city, which it is located 25 Km to the southeast of Aleppo, was used by the armed terrorist groups as a center and launch pad for perpetrating their criminal acts in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo.
The Syrian armed forces have gained full control over al-Sfeira town in Aleppo southeastern countryside, following a series of successful operations that inflicted heavy losses on the armed terrorist groups, a statement by the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces said Friday.
''The importance of this new achievement by the armed forces stems from the fact that this strategic area is the southeastern gateway to Aleppo city,'' the statement said. "Therefore, controlling it would ensure the supply routes of food and medical items to our people in Aleppo, and provides a springboard to finish off the armed terrorist gangs in the eastern countryside of Aleppo city,'' the statement pointed out.
As it affirmed determination to press ahead with combating terrorism, the General Command called on all those who have been misled to return to the right path and benefit from the amnesty decree no. 70 for 2013 that President Bashar al-Assad issued.
The Syrian army also launched an intensive campaign against the terrorists on Damascus countryside in the west of Sayyeda Zainab area, inflicting heavy losses upon them and attaining field progress.
