Lebanese Caretaker Minister of Defense, Fayez Ghoson, said in a statement Saturday that Israeli tapping of Lebanese phones and communications was unacceptable and measures will be taken against this breach of Lebanon's sovereignty.
"This case calls for work on two channels, a political one by informing the UN about Israel violations of Lebanese autonomy, and the second one is technical and it connects to ongoing investigations about the infringement."
The statement also revealed that the Lebanese army was working in collaboration with a team from the ministry of telecommunications to probe this matter further. The result of this work would then be communicated with the UNIFIL command to study further steps to remove these breaches.
