In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph newspaper, Jarba said that his participation in the conference is dependent on the West and the Arab countries under the banner of so-called " Friends of Syria" to fulfill their commitments in this regard.

Several weeks ago, Jarba had identified strict conditions to participate in the conference, demanding the departure of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad as an outcome.

The opposition National Coalition has met in Istanbul on Saturday to decide the situation permanently regarding the participation in Geneva II, but the first day of the meeting did not lead to any results.
