Davutoglo confirmed after meeting Sayyed al-Sistani that Turkey is determined to work with Iraq on preserving the region's unity.
He also praised Sayyed Sistani's efforts to stifle the sectarian strife.
After he met the Leader of Sadr movement Sayyed Muqtada al-Sadr, the Turkish FM said, "We held fruitful discussions and visited several holy shrines."
" We are honored to visit the holy city of Najaf," he added.
Davutoglo expressed his gladness for meeting Sayyed al-Sadr, adding that both countries will exert all needed efforts to halt the sedition in the region.
For his part, Sayyed Muqtada al-Sadr revealed his hopes for attaining unity and strengthening the mutual relations for the sake of both countries' interests.
It is worth to mention that Davutoglo's visit to Iraq lasted two days during which he met his Iraqi counterpart and a number of senior officials to discuss the current political conditions in the region, including Geneva II conference.
