Hezbollah denounced in a statement Tuesday the assassination of martyr Sheikh Saadeddine Ghiyyeh, the Islamic Action Front official, in Tripoli.
"The city of Tripoli witnessed this morning a brutal c
rime that claimed the life of Sheikh Saadeddine Ghiyyeh, member of the leadership of the Islamic Action Front, who died defending the choice of resistance and calling for Muslim unity," the statement read.
"Hezbollah condemns this terrorist crime that targeted one of the symbols of Islamic conscious, and believes it was a result of the provocative speech practiced by some authorities in Tripoli and in other areas of Lebanon," the statement said.
Hezbollah offered its sincere condolences to the Islamic Action Front and to all the Lebanese, calling the judiciary and the security services to uncover the culprits and drag them to justice in order to protect the country from the sedition which can lead to disastrous consequences.
