Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem criticized the strict judicial rulings on the Bahraini people while commuting it to the security services personnel.
During his Friday sermon in Diraz, west of Manama, Ayatollah Qassim considered that “the disparity in judicial rulings has no explanation,” pointing to that any objection to these provisions is faced with charges of “incitement against the regime, to terrorism and destructive roles.”
“Many harsh sentences are only issued against one faction of the people” in the country, Sheikh Qassim said, adding that Bahraini judges need to treat people equally if they are abiding by the same law in the country.
His eminence said that the government calls the opposition terrorists while many are allowed to do whatever they like. He went on to say that “confessions of victims of these harsh sentences were extracted under torture.”
