Two Lebanese Killed While Heading to Fight in Syria

The two gunmen had been killed before they reached the town of Qara where fierce clashes between the Syrian army and the militant groups have erupted for few days.

Media reports asserted the murder of other fighters as  the two Houjeiry brothers were among 50-member group that was heading to fight in Damascus countryside.

The reports noted that a large number of militants who are fighting the Syrian army in Qara are escaping the battlefield and hiding in the caves of Arsal outskirts.

"Around 30 fighters headed from Arsal to join the militant groups in Qara to support the Free Syrian Army," said one of Arsal's dignitaries, requesting anonymity.

"The fighters headed to Syria when they listened to the news about the clashes there."

NNA had previously mentioned that a Syrian helicopter raided on Monday the Bekaa Valley border town of Arsal, killing the two Lebanese fighters.
