Iran and world powers adjourned Friday the first round of the third day of their negotiations over Tehran's nuclear program for further internal consultations.
Friday's third day of talks began with a meeting between the EU chief negotiator Catherine Ashton and Iran's foreign minister which lasted for an hour.
Ashton's spokesman said that the meeting was "useful", without giving further details.
Mohammad Javad Zarif, however, said “differences of opinion remain and we are negotiating over them. God willing we will reach a result.”
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for International and Legal Affairs Abbas Araqchi, who is also a member of the Iranian nuclear negotiating team, said on Thursday that Tehran would not accept any deal which does not include the right.
“We have made progress on a joint document, but made no headway with regard to divisive issues,” said Araqchi. “If the opposite side shows flexibility, it is possible to reach a deal,” the Iranian negotiator pointed out.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the US, France, Britain, Russia and China - plus Germany kicked off their latest round of talks on Wednesday.
