Two Palestinians were injured in the Gaza Strip on Saturday after being shot at by Israeli occupation troops, the territory's emergency services said.The two men were collecting construction material at a site east of Gaza City when the soldiers opened fire, the emergency services told AFP, adding that both suffered "serious" injuries.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said the "soldiers opened fire against Palestinians preparing to place an explosive device near the security barrier," separating the Gaza Strip from occupied Palestine.
