A source at Damascus Police Command said four citizens were martyred, including a child and a woman and 26 others were wounded in the terrorist attack.

The source pointed out that the majority of the injured are women and children, who are aged between one and a half year and 12 years.

Ministry of Religious Endowments (Awkaf) urged the Arab and Muslim worlds to stand up to the Saudi Wahhabi vindictive thought that targeted the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus with shells on Friday.

The ministry stressed in a statement on Friday that the terrorist attacks against mosques and churches ''make the Syrians even more determined to purify their land of the stain of extremism and takfiri thought.''

''The Wahhabi killing, vandalism and destruction continue to claim the lives of innocent civilians every day,'' the statement said.
