The official WAM news agency mentioned Wednesday that Zarif conveyed the Iranian president Sheikh Hassan Rouhani's greetings to Sheikh Khalifa.
"Rouhani appreciated UAE positions towards Iran as the UAE welcomed the preliminary agreement between Iran and the Western nations over its peaceful nuclear program."
It added that the Iranian Foreign Minister transmitted a call from President Rouhani to the leader of the United Arab Emirates "to visit Tehran."
"The Emirati president accepted the invitation and decided to identify its date later."
For his part, the Emirati President said that his country looks for the security and stability in the region and for a solid cooperation among its people.
WAM added that Zarif further discussed with the Emirati president the mutual relations and the Latest developments in the region.
