Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed on Thursday that talking about military options would “be meaningless as this would serve the interest of no side.”
The foreign minister, who is in Mashhad to visit a number of senior local officials, added that Iraniansˈ resistance is the real ˈdeterrentˈ power against enemies and has stopped the US from invading Iran.
Speaking to IRNA, he said that the US has, so far, taken no advantage of its military actions against other countries.
Zarif added that Iran “would decide based on actions of western powers not their words.”
“Iran will continue talks, if Americans meet their commitments.”
He noted that making negative comments by US officials “would neither benefit Washington nor damage the firm determination of the Iranian nation.”
