Security official said that 10 people were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up in the Dura area of south Baghdad.
The bombing took place at a tent where pilgrims are served food and drinks on their way to the mark the 40th day after the annual commemoration of martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) in the shrine city of Karbala, the official said, adding that at least 21 other people were injured.
Extremist militants, including those linked to Al-Qaeda, frequently target pilgrims who visit holy shrines across Iraq.
