Mikdad: None Can Prevent President Assad from Running for Presidential Elections

Syrian Deputy Foreign Faisal Mikdad asserted that none can prevent President Assad from running for presidential elections in 2014.

Syrian Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Faisal Mikdad, said that the massacre committed by armed terrorist groups against citizens in Adraa al-Omalia (workers) city in Damascus suburbs will terrify the world when its full reality is exposed, SANA reported.Mikdad

He added: " This massacre will urge the whole world to change their viewpoint regarding those who offered weapons and money and provoked for joining armed terrorist groups.

In an interview with the Syrian TV on Wednesday evening, Mikdad criticized the Western countries' double standards regarding terrorism and their unjustifiable silence on Adra massacre committed by the armed terrorist groups with no reason or justification.

"Those who send criminals to Syria, whether they are the USA, France, Britain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia or others are responsible for killing the Syrian people," he added.

Mikdad said "Syria informs the UN and the Security Council of the crimes and violations committed by the armed terrorist groups, yet the UN's role is unfortunately shameful, as some dominant powers on the UN thought that what is taking place in Syria will end like what had happened in Egypt, Tunisia and Lydia in weeks ."

The Deputy Foreign  Minister added that despite these powers' preconceptions and the role of the misleading media tools, the Syrian people, army and leadership's steadfastness has foiled all enemies' schemes.

Mikdad said what cannot be tolerated that world terrorists are gathering in Syria, while some institutions in the framework of the international work still describe them with titles that are completely unrelated to terrorism.

He pointed out that the hands which are killing in Iraq are identical to those perpetrating crimes in Syria.

The outcomes of the Syrian people's steadfastness and the Syrian Arab Army's achievements have started to surface at the internal and external arenas , as a big number of states have come to an end that terrorism cannot be confined to Syria where it will threat the whole world, Mikdad clarified.

He continued to say that the Saudi regime works overtly and with no shame on pumping more funds and weapons to terrorists in Syria and Iraq, covered by the Israeli intelligence.

"Saudi-Israeli relations have become public, as they exchange visits and talks and have joint operation rooms," Mikdad said.

He clarified that the role of Recep Tayyip Erdogan's government ruling Turkey in supporting terrorists is utterly overt, as most of the terrorists enter the country through Turkey, pointing that the Turkey's denial of that is "laughable."

Mikdad said the USA, which claims that it only provides non-lethal weapons to the armed terrorist groups, has actually provided lethal weapons to them.

"All faithful Syrian citizens who want the cessation of bloodshed should have a prompt accord on halting terrorism, and thus there will be no priority for Geneva 2 Conference but this," said the Deputy Foreign Minister.

We will not go to Geneva for sitting with the terrorists, and the USA should be precise in this regard… it vowed to Russia that it will make the opposition attend , yet it has failed so far," he added.

Mikdad said that the Russian stance is rational, considerate and responsible, as it also realizes that the world would move towards a catastrophe if there would be a Russian-U.S confrontation.

"We support 30th of June Revolution in Egypt because it expresses the Egyptian people's viewpoint against the Moslem Brotherhood Movement, the Takfiris and the extremists… any victory we achieve in Syria against those is an achievement to our people in Egypt," he said.
