Geneva: Iran-P5+1 Talks to Continue on Saturday

Iran and the P5+1 are to continue their expert-level talks on Tehran peaceful nuclear program in Geneva on Saturday.

The two sides started negotiations on Thursday and are reviewing ways of implementing the Joint Action Plan that they agreed upon in Geneva on November 24.

On Friday afternoon, Iran and the six world powers (the US, Russia, France China, Britain and Germany) held their third round of expert-level talks in Geneva, Switzerland, aimed at devising mechanisms to implement the interim nuclear deal inked last month.

Foreign Ministry Director General for Political and International Affairs Hamid Baeidinejad is leading the Iranian delegation, which includes experts from nuclear, banking, oil and transportation sectors.

Stephan Klement, an aide of the European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, is heading the 5+1 negotiating team.

On November 24, Iran and the Group 5+1 sealed the six-month Joint Plan of Action to lay the groundwork for the full resolution of the West’s decade-old dispute with Iran over its nuclear program.
