Lebanese Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji warned on Monday that the military would respond in case the country is subjected to an Israeli military attack, websites reported.
“The army has the full capability to respond to any Israeli aggression,” Qahwaji said after he inspected army units in Marjeyoun, which lies eight kilometers from the border with Israel.
The military “will not succumb to any threat,” he said, adding it will “immediately respond to any aggression.”
Qahwaji also visited the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon that lies in Naqoura and the command of the army's eighth brigade in al-Zahrani.
