Sahwa Chief Sheikh Ahmad Abu Risha announced that 62 Qaeda militants were killed in Anbar, including the group's chief, after clashes with the Iraqi police and the local tribal fighters.
Abu Risha told AFP that the local tribes avenged on the terrorist ISIL group by killing their leader Abu Abdul Rahman al-Baghdadi.
Sheikh Abu Risha said that on Friday 16 members of the Al-Qaeda-linked Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group were killed in Khaldiyah, east of Ramadi, while 46 more died in the city itself.
Abu Risha asserted that the Iraqi police and the tribal fighters regained 80% of Anbar cities as they are still chasing ISIL terrorists.
