Caretaker Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Adnan Mansour, on Tuesday received from the Secretary-General of the UN, Ban Ki-moon, an invitation to attend the International Conference Geneva II, which will be taking place at the level of foreign ministers in the city of Montreux, Switzerland, on January 22, 2014.
The one-day international conference, which will convene under the chairmanship of Ban Ki-moon, will address the Syrian issue.
The Conference aims at helping the Syrian parties to put an end to teh crisis via an agreement based on a political solution, which preserves the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria.
Talks among the Syrian parties will take place on January 24, 2014, in Geneva, in the presence of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Arab League, Lakhdar Brahimi.
