United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Derek Plumbly underlined on Friday the importance of Iran's presence in the upcoming international conference on Syrian to be held in Geneva, Switzerland.
In a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi, Plumbly described Islamic Republic's role in solving the regional problems as significant.
He said Iran's participation in the Geneva II conference on Syrian will be fruitful.
The UN official further stressed settlement of the Syrian crisis through cooperation of all groups and parties as soon as possible.
For his part, the Iranian diplomat said Iran supports preserving security, stability and national unity in Lebanon.
As to the Syrian crisis, Roknabadi voiced Tehranˈs full readiness to help seek a peaceful solution to the crisis.
