Al-Manar correspondent quoted the head of field operations in the Islamic Health Society as saying that there have been three martyrs and 50 injured in the blast.
Our correspondent cited security sources as assuring that the bombing was a suicide one, saying that body parts belonging to the terrorist who carried out the attack scattered in the explosion site.
Shortly following the explosion, the Lebanese army cordoned off the area. For his part, State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr tasked the military police to start probing the explosion.
