Gul Aga, an security official in Uruzgan, in central Afghanistan, said a roadside bomb exploded as a car was passing by. The blast killed two people, including a child, and injured two others, one seriously.
Aga claimed that the Taliban was responsible for the attack.
Two people were injured in an attack on a civilian car in Ghazni province, just to the east of Uruzgan. One of the injured is in serious condition, officials said.
