First Military Investigation Judge Riyad Abu Ghida demanded on Friday the death penalty for the terrorist Ahmad al-Asir and several of his supporters over the Abra clashes with the army near the southern city of Sidon, a judicial source informed AFP.
The judge issued the indictment against 75 culprits in Abra clashes, requesting the death penalty to al-Assir and 53 others.
Different prison terms were demanded for other suspects, who were referred to the military tribunal.
The indictment accused them of forming military groups that possessed weaponry and fighting the Lebanese army.
In June 2013, Assir's supporters opened fire on an army checkpoint, leaving around 18 soldiers and more than 20 gunmen dead.
