Zionist forces on Tuesday arrested Ayub al-Qawasmi, a leading member of the Ezzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of Hamas, in the West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron), a Hamas leader confirmed.
"Al-Qawasmi was arrested by a Mista'arvim force (an Israeli force in which troops are disguised as Arabs) in Al-Khalil," the Hamas leader, who preferred to remain anonymous, told media outlets.
Al-Qawasmi had been wanted by the Zionist authorities since 1998 in claimed connection with attacks on occupation targets.
He was arrested in 2010 by the Palestinian Authority (PA) forces and was released earlier this week on health grounds.
