Discussing the latest developments of the Islamic World, the 6th meeting of the Supreme Council of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening has been held in Tehran.
Over 50 leading figures and influential personalities in the Islamic Awakening movement from various countries have attended the gathering.
During the daylong event, the participants exchanged views on the latest developments regarding the Islamic Awakening movement and the steps required to be taken to remove the challenges and counter terrorism.
Addressing the opening ceremony senior advisor to leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Akbar Velayati, who is also the Secretary General of the World Assembly of Islamic awakening warned of the enemies’ plot to create division among Muslims.
The meeting was presided over by former Iraqi prime minister, Ibrahim al-Jafari.
This meeting has been held at a crucial time during which we discuss challenges facing the Islamic awakening and countering terrorism and Takfiris. Terrorism is one of the most obvious challenges in the way of Islamic awakening. The enemies are trying to counter Islamic awakening by fueling differences among Muslims.
Over the past few years, Iran has hosted several international conferences on the Islamic Awakening including “Islamic Awakening and Youth,” “Women and the Islamic Awakening” and “Muslim University Professors and Islamic Awakening”.
Experts and scholars believe the Islamic revolution of Iran back in 1979 was the main source of inspiration for the current wave of Islamic awakening across the region.
The Islamic Awakening movement, which started in 2011 in Tunisia, has swept across the Middle East and North Africa including Egypt, Bahrain and Yemen.
