A homemade explosive was detonated outside of the Israeli embassy in Cairo on Tuesday, according to Security sources cited by Egypt’s state newspaper Al-Ahram.
The bomb appeared to target a police vehicle near the embassy rather than the structure itself, and did not result in any injuries.
The embassy was last the target of a serious attack on September 11, 2011, when protesters entered the compound, trapping six staff members inside for several hours and ransacking documents.
